THE tree.

There´s my painting of the one and only Spartacus, Andy Whitfield.
I still can´t belive He´s gone :-(  My heart goes out to His Family.

There is not much cooking going on here right now,
a big group of loved ones coming tomorrow to spend
X-mas.....Maybe I´ll post what I´m serving for dinner
tomorrow.....if enough time. I am very grateful for all my
loved ones!!! <3

New surface.

Adding some texture to the board.

Let dry overnight.

Ready for color.

Ahhh, delish!

I thought I would put an other layer of white, but this looks....

Nice. Maybe I´ll wait with the white.

Creative use of leftovers.....?

So, you have some mushroom soup that nobody wants anymore......

You cook some meat, spice it up.

You dump your -just about to be old- spinach on top and wait
for the magic to happen.... poof!

Spinach is so fun :-D

Add a little cream and the rest of your soup.

Rice. Check the taste, maybe add pepper, dash of salt....

Family is happy, they all love this stuff. Now, that´s what I call an
easy dinner and beats junk food any day!

Mushroom soup.

X-mas has landed our home.

Soup incredients.

Soak your dried mushrooms in hot water for 20min.
Dried mushrooms give the soup a nice intense
flavour and the liquid from the soak too.

Cut your fresh mushroom to a size you like.

Cook onion and some of the fresh mushrooms on a skillet.

Cook the rest of the mushrooms until small and caramelized.

Remember to scrape the pan for the GOOD bits.

Remove dried plumbed up mushrooms from liquid.

Add flour on the onion/ mushroom mix, cook.

Add soak water.

Not all of it though, leave the sand :-)

Add more hot liquid with a good demi-glace.

Smooth in to this with hand blender.

Warm your caramelized mushrooms and the dried ones together
on a skillet....

Add in to soup, throw in some salt and pepper, maybe
some soysauce too....

A little cream, naturally!

Mmmmmm..... so mushroomy good!

I love this waiting for X-mas part......sigh... :-D Happy.
